Creating a Community Coalition
No coalition in your area? Then consider starting one!
Coalitions … partnerships … collaborations … all are essential in successful efforts to prevent and reduce substance use.
A community that opposes youth substance use and misuse can help change how people think and act. But it takes time. Together, communities can support teens in making healthy decisions.
You can find lots of help if you are starting a new coalition:
Check the prevention map for nearby coalitions or your region’s prevention consultant
VADIC provides communities with informational resources pertaining to substance abuse and at-risk issues. VADIC is a grant-funded program, and its services are free for Vermonters. www.vadic.org
